VIDEO: Professional Boxer Murad Gassiev, Granted Armenian Citizenship, Celebrates a Brilliant Victory in Yerevan

For the first time in Armenia, a professional boxing evening took place at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex in Yerevan, featuring five bouts.

In the main event of the evening, Russian professional boxer Murad Gassiev, who received Armenian citizenship, faced off against American Michael Balogun.

Throughout the first round of the main fight, Gassiev and Balogun engaged in a sort of 'reconnaissance'. However, as the second round unfolded, Gassiev clearly excelled in his 'recon' from the first round. A powerful right hand from Gassiev knocked Balogun down, who was unable to get back on his feet before the referee's count finished.

This victory marked Gassiev's 30th career win, while Balogun suffered his first defeat.

The Gassiev-Balogun fight was contested for the WBA Intercontinental World Championship.
