Finnish Parliament Approves NATO Membership Bill
The Finnish Parliament has approved the bill for NATO membership, with 184 lawmakers voting in favor and 7 against. Finnish media reports this development.
For the bill to be finalized, it needs to be confirmed by President Sauli Niinistö. In May of last year, Sweden and Finland officially announced their intention to apply for NATO membership. The decision to abandon their previous policy of neutrality was driven by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
