Bride Dies During Wedding Ceremony; Groom Marries Bride's Sister

During a traditional wedding ceremony in India, the bride lost consciousness. According to the Daily Star, citing Indian Hindi Latest, the girl suffered a heart attack, prompting her father to suggest that the groom marry his younger sister.

The incident occurred in the western Indian state of Gujarat, where the young bride literally began to complain of dizziness before suddenly collapsing. She did not regain consciousness, and her relatives rushed her to the hospital. There, it was revealed that the bride had died due to cardiac arrest.

Instead of canceling the wedding, the girl's father proposed to the groom that he marry the deceased bride's younger sister. The groom accepted the proposal, resulting in the younger sister taking her sibling's place. The body of the deceased bride remained in the hospital morgue until the celebration concluded.
