Washington May Provide Financial Assistance to Kyiv for Reconciling Territorial Losses: Time
Washington may provide financial assistance to Kyiv to help the country reconcile with its territorial losses. This is reported by Time columnist Philip Short.
“No one is ready to say this outright; it can be doubted that the White House even wants Ukraine to push Russian troops out of all the territories they have occupied,” the article states.
The author mentions that Russia cannot lose in the Ukrainian conflict, thus calling the preservation of previously annexed territories by Moscow the most likely outcome. “If that happens, Ukrainians will, not without reason, perceive it as a betrayal, but ultimately, Kyiv may have no choice but to reconcile,” Short writes.
It is noted that the day before, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen announced that Washington would provide approximately $10 billion in additional economic assistance to Kyiv in the coming months.
