What Did Nikol Pashinyan and Antonio Guterres Agree Upon
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a telephone conversation with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The two discussed the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh caused by Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor and topics related to overcoming this crisis.
Specifically, they addressed the questions regarding sending a UN fact-finding mission to Nagorno-Karabakh and the Lachin corridor. Both parties emphasized the necessity of unblocking the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan and the importance of its uninterrupted operation.
They agreed to continue discussions on the issue of sending a UN mission. Antonio Guterres stated that he would keep the matter under close attention.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the significance of the International Court of Justice's decision to respond to Armenia's request for temporary measures regarding the unblocking of the Lachin corridor.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the protection of the rights and security of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.
