Irina Madatova, Director of Surmalu, Tried to Deceive Pre-Trial Authorities: She Has Been Arrested

Irina Madatova, the director of the Surmalu shopping center, is set to be arrested. The request for her arrest has been granted. This information was reported to Sputnik Armenia by the spokesperson of the RA Prosecutor General's Office, Arevik Khachatryan.

Recall that Madatova was arrested yesterday.

Earlier, it was reported that nearly 7 months after the tragic explosion at Surmalu, the center's director, Irina Madatova, has been taken into custody. The Prosecutor's Office specified that Madatova had fabricated a false order, transferring the responsibilities for fire safety and security at Surmalu to the deputy director.

With this forged document, the director exempted herself from the obligation and responsibility to maintain sanitary, fire safety, and security regulations at the Surmalu shopping center, and subsequently presented the false order to the investigator conducting the criminal proceedings.

It is worth noting that an explosion occurred at the Surmalu shopping center on August 14, 2022, at approximately 13:23, resulting in the deaths of 16 individuals.
