Boris Johnson Aims for NATO Secretary General Position

The former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, has announced his intention to contend for the position of NATO Secretary General. In an interview with Ukrainian media, he stated that he sees himself as a candidate for this "good, important" role.

It is noteworthy that Jens Stoltenberg recently confirmed he will leave the post of NATO Secretary General in September 2023. The politician has expressed no intention of extending his mandate and is confident that a capable successor will be found.

Previously, Western media had speculated about various positions for the ousted leader of the British cabinet. Now, the former Prime Minister himself has confirmed his aspirations for the NATO Secretary General role. “It’s a good idea. I must declare that there is such a thought… I consider myself a candidate. This is a very good position, important. NATO is now stronger than ever,” he said.
