Another Person Arrested in Connection with the Death of Soldier Who Died Days Ago
The investigation by the sixth garrison investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee continues to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of soldier H.P., who died at a combat position on February 19, 2023. This information was reported on the committee's Facebook page.
Within the framework of the criminal proceedings, on February 22, a conscript soldier, who serves as the assistant to the senior guard at the combat position of Military Unit N of the Ministry of Defense, was arrested. The arrest was based on direct suspicion of committing crimes specified in parts 1, 2, and 3 of Article 522, part 1 of Article 519, and part 1 of Article 524 of the RA Criminal Code.
It should be noted that the RA Ministry of Defense received a report from the Ijevan division indicating that conscript soldier H.P. was found with a gunshot wound to the head and was taken to Ijevan Medical Center in a deceased state around 12:45 on February 19. According to preliminary data, H.P. died as a result of a shot fired from his assigned firearm to the head.
Within the same criminal proceedings, on February 21, a contract soldier responsible for the position was also arrested on direct suspicion of committing crimes as specified in parts 1, 2, and 3 of Article 522, part 1 of Article 520, and parts 2 and 3 of Article 524 of the RA Criminal Code.
The preliminary investigation is ongoing. All necessary measures are being taken to fully clarify the circumstances of the soldier's death.
