Zovq Supermarkets Raided by Armed and Masked Officials
On Monday, it was reported that a raid had taken place at the Zovq supermarket chain, resulting in the closure of most of its stores.
Shortly after, the State Revenues Committee released a statement indicating that, "Within the framework of the criminal case initiated in the Investigative Committee's Department for Economic Crimes and Smuggling, searches are being carried out at the Zovq supermarket chain, as well as at other locations of significance for the criminal case, by employees of the Investigative Committee, the National Security Service, and the State Revenues Committee, based on court decisions and in accordance with the law."
In an interview with Haraparak, the deputy director of the supermarket chain, Raphael Khachatryan, stated that the searches were illegal. When asked about the reason for the search and whether there were any detainees, Khachatryan responded, "No, there are no detainees; however, they have taken cash register devices, computer drives, DVRs, and other equipment."
Khachatryan also noted that in some of their stores, masked and armed police officers participated in the raid, which he deemed illegal, according to the deputy director.
