Biden's Visit to Kyiv Not an Extraordinary Event for Russia: Peskov

The press secretary of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, stated on First Channel that the American leader's visit to Ukraine is not an extraordinary event for Russia.

He emphasized that this visit is unable to influence Russia's internal politics. "Let's remain sovereign and pay no attention to anything. Our main priority is ourselves and our agenda," Peskov stated.

He noted that this event is significant and that the Kremlin is monitoring Biden's visit to Kyiv and will also keep an eye on what happens during Biden's trip to Poland.

On February 20, Biden arrived in Kyiv and met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, with whom he toured the city's center. His visit was not advertised; however, as the White House stated, Moscow was notified that the president would be traveling to Kyiv "a few hours before departure to avoid a conflict situation." During his visit to Kyiv, Biden announced support for Ukraine, including a new $500 million military aid package.
