Mirzoyan's Statement Following Meeting with Cavusoglu
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, made a statement for the press following his meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu:
“Our meeting today is, of course, conditioned by the disaster that has claimed numerous lives. However, being in Turkey at this difficult time, I want to once again reaffirm the Republic of Armenia's readiness and commitment to building peace in the region and, in particular, to the complete normalization of relations with Turkey, establishing diplomatic relations, and fully opening the border between Armenia and Turkey.
I would like to inform you, as Minister Cavusoglu just mentioned, that today we discussed certain details regarding this process. We have agreed to jointly renovate the Ani bridge, as well as to take care of the related infrastructure in anticipation of the full opening of the border.”
