Azerbaijan and Israel Plan to Expand UAV Production

The Minister of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan, Madat Guliyev, met with Moshe Elazar, the head of the Israeli company Aeronautics. According to Azerbaijani media reports, the parties exchanged views on the further expansion of cooperation in the field of joint production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The meeting took place in Abu Dhabi during the IDEX 2023 international defense exhibition. Aeronautics Defense Systems specializes in the development and production of weapon systems, particularly military and commercial unmanned aerial vehicles.

The Azerbaijani Armed Forces currently use Orbiter and Aerostar UAVs produced by Aeronautics. In 2009, a agreement was signed between Baku and the company for the construction of a factory for the production of reconnaissance and strike UAVs.
