World's First: Argentinian Football Club Unveils Jerseys Featuring Armenian Alphabet

The Argentinian Deportivo Armenio football club has introduced new jerseys featuring the Armenian alphabet. This was reported by the Diario Armenia publication of the Armenian community in Argentina. Ahead of the jersey presentation, the team released a video highlighting the Armenian community in Argentina and Armenian language teachers.

Club president Marcelo Papazyan stated that the players want to organize meetings in Armenian schools throughout the year to strengthen their ties with the community. He added that it is very important for the new jerseys to be seen by thousands of viewers, as this will make Armenian culture more recognizable not only among the Armenian diaspora in Argentina.

“Our team will be the first in the world to have a sports uniform featuring an artwork of the Armenian alphabet,” declared President Papazyan.

It is worth noting that the team competes in the third-tier regional league of Argentine football.
