Tents Provided for Earthquake Victims Seized in Iran
The Iranian government has seized tents allocated for victims of the Khoi earthquake and cut off the electricity supply, according to Iranian opposition media reports. Local residents claim that the power outage forces them to leave the tents and return to their damaged, collapsed homes.
Earlier, Iran's Minister of Interior Ahmad Vahidi announced that container homes will not be provided for the earthquake victims. Following this announcement, doctors in Tabriz purchased 40 containers with their own funds and donated them to the Khoi residents.
Currently, 130,000 people affected by the earthquake in Khoi are living in tent camps.
