Results of Toxicology Tests for Two Survivors of Barracks Fire Revealed
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has received the results of the toxicological examination conducted on the two servicemen who survived the fire in the military barracks located in Azat village. According to the findings, there were no traces of drugs in their bodies. This was reported by the newspaper 'Haykakan Jamanak'.
'Haykakan Jamanak' officially requested information from the Investigative Committee, which responded, 'The results of the toxicological examinations for the three servicemen have been received, and no traces of drugs were found in their organisms,' the newspaper noted.
It is important to mention that the toxicology tests involved the serviceman, Captain Yeghishe Hakobyan, who was under investigation after the tragic fire in Azat village, along with the two soldiers.
Recall that on January 19, around 01:30, a fire broke out in the barracks of the engineering battalion of the Armenian Ministry of Defense's military unit No. N, located in the territory of Azat village in Gegharkunik Province. As a result of the fire, 15 people died, and 7 servicemen sustained injuries.
A criminal case has also been initiated regarding the apparent negligence of officials in failing to adhere to fire safety regulations and fulfilling related functions.
