How It Is Technically Possible to Periodically Suspend and Restore Gas Supply to Artsakh

How is the gas supply in the Republic of Artsakh organized and how is it technically possible to periodically suspend and restore gas supply? To answer these questions, Tert.am has approached Gazprom Armenia LLC.

“In particular, natural gas is supplied through the Teghe measuring station located near the village of Teghe in the Syunik province. At this measuring station, Gazprom Armenia LLC's technical functions end, and any remaining issues regarding the gas supply network in the territory of the Republic of Artsakh fall outside the jurisdiction of Gazprom Armenia LLC,” the company's press service stated.

As reported, a section of the gas pipeline supplying Artsakh has come under Azerbaijani control as a result of the war. Subsequently, the Azerbaijanis installed a corresponding valve on that section of the gas pipeline, which allows them to suspend and restore the gas supply to Artsakh at any time, creating numerous obstacles for the Artsakh residents.
