Dozens Wanted in Turkey as 150 Arrested
In the earthquake-stricken areas of Turkey, more than 150 individuals have been arrested on suspicion of looting. According to 'Haberturk', 83 suspects were detained during the investigation of the earthquake. Additionally, 152 suspects have been arrested in connection with theft, looting, and aggravated fraud in the region.
The arrests have primarily taken place in the provinces of Kahramanmaraş, Malatya, and Osmaniye. The total number of suspects is 309, with dozens more wanted by authorities. Earlier, Turkish officials announced that they would take a firm stance against those engaged in looting in the disaster zone. Videos were released showing how they harshly punish looters.
It is worth noting that on February 6, an earthquake occurred in the Kahramanmaraş district of Turkey, leading to devastation in several cities. According to the latest reports, the death toll from the earthquake has risen to 38,000.
