Turkish Armed Forces Shell Aleppo
During the shelling by Turkish forces in the Tel Rifaat area of Aleppo province, an elderly man was killed and another injured, reports the Kurdish ANHA agency.
Since November 20, 2022, the Turkish Armed Forces have been conducting airstrikes in northern Syria and Iraq. The attacks are aimed at the Syrian branch of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is banned in Turkey. Strikes have also targeted the city of Kobani.
Earlier, Turkey's presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin stated that Ankara is prepared for a new military operation in northern Syria, which could begin at any moment.
The Damascus government has repeatedly called the presence of Turkish forces in the Syrian border zone illegal, claiming they are conducting operations against Kurdish formations and urging Ankara to withdraw its troops.
