18 Advanced Drones Smuggled from Iran to Russia

Iran has utilized boats and a state airline to smuggle a new type of advanced combat drones into Russia, reports The Guardian, citing its Iranian sources.

The publication notes that at least 18 drones were transferred to the Russian Navy following a special visit by Russian officers and technical experts to Tehran in November 2022.

Among the drones mentioned were Mohajer-6 unmanned aerial vehicles with a range of nearly 200 km and capable of carrying two missiles under each wing, as well as 12 Shahed 191 and 129 drones.

Both Moscow and Tehran deny the supply of drones to Russia.

Earlier, Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's permanent representative at the United Nations, referred to reports of Iranian drones being used by Russian military forces in Ukraine as false statements.
