Photos: Transfer of Prohibited Items Prevented via Drone, Penitentiary Service Reports

The Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia reports that on February 16, 2023, around 11:00 AM, officers from the operational and security divisions of the "Artik" penitentiary institution noticed a suspicious package being dropped in the residential area via a remote-controlled drone, right in front of the window for receiving and handing over packages.

The inspection of the package revealed a total of 7.55 grams of brown, powdery, solidified substance, and 41.49 grams of green, crushed dry material resembling marijuana, divided into two separate packages. Additionally, there were six mobile phone batteries and four mobile phones, three of which were damaged due to the drone's height.

A criminal case has been initiated by the investigation departments of Artik and Ani regarding the incident.
