Pashinyan on the Possible Opening of the Ani Bridge
Preparations have been made in Armenia regarding the possible opening of the Ani Bridge, located on the Armenia-Turkey border. This was announced today by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government session. He stated, “I want to say that we prepared a sketch project quite some time ago.”
Pashinyan expressed the view that the restoration of the bridge could become a very symbolic step.
It is noteworthy that Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced after his meeting with Turkey's Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu that they had agreed to jointly renovate the Ani Bridge. Mirzoyan traveled to Turkey on February 15. The delegation also included Ruben Rubinyan, Armenia’s special representative for the normalization of relations with Turkey and Vice Speaker of the National Assembly.
