"We have agreed to renovate the Ani Bridge": Statements from Mirzoyan and Cavusoglu
Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has deemed the visit of Armenian colleague Ararat Mirzoyan to Ankara significant following the devastating earthquakes, as reported by RIA Novosti.
"I would like to thank you for this visit. I believe it is important. Armenia extended a hand of friendship to us at such a difficult moment," said Cavusoglu during a joint press conference.
It is worth noting that during a private meeting prior to the press conference, the two foreign ministers discussed possible steps in the normalization process of Armenia-Turkey relations, agreeing to expedite these efforts.
Cavusoglu expressed hope for progress in the normalization of relations between Yerevan and Ankara, which, according to him, would create a favorable situation in the region.
During the press conference, Ararat Mirzoyan specifically stated: "At this difficult moment, I want to reaffirm Armenia's readiness and aspiration to establish peace in the region and, in particular, to fully normalize relations with Turkey, establish diplomatic relations, and fully open the border between Armenia and Turkey. We have an agreement to jointly renovate the Ani Bridge, as well as to take care of the relevant infrastructure, signaling the full opening of the border," announced the Armenian Foreign Minister during the conference.
