Israeli Defense Minister Visits Kyiv: What We Know
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met today, February 16, with Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, referencing a tweet from Israel's ambassador to Ukraine, Mikhail Brodsky.
According to Israeli media, during his first visit to Ukraine, Foreign Minister Eli Cohen reaffirmed his intention to provide Kyiv with a missile threat early warning system, promised $200 million in humanitarian aid, and expressed support for President Zelensky's peace plan at the UN.
The Jerusalem Post noted that there were no discussions regarding military assistance. Prior to his meeting with the Ukrainian president, Cohen discussed the Ukrainian peace initiative with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
Kuleba, in turn, stated that Ukraine has provided the Israeli government with a list of its military needs. Additionally, today the Israeli embassy in Ukraine resumed operations, which had been suspended due to the outbreak of large-scale war.
