VIDEO: Column of Light Objects in Armenia Observed by Users
Recently, a series of light objects has been spotted in the skies over Armenia and Artsakh. Armenian users took to Facebook to share their experiences and posted videos as well.
According to some users, the phenomenon appears to be a column of Starlink satellites. It is notable that this has also been observed in Armenia months ago.
Media expert Samvel Martirosyan previously reported that a rocket releases 50-60 satellites at once, which is why we see the column initially, and they later separate in flight.
“The satellites are very low, at an altitude of approximately 300-600 km, which makes them easily visible and they move quickly. The goal is to provide ultra-fast internet to any corner of the Earth,” he told one media outlet last year, adding, “We can expect to see such columns more frequently in our skies, as the ultra-fast internet supply system will soon be available in our region. By the end of this year, Georgia will start working with Starlink internet, and Armenia and Azerbaijan are set to begin at the start of next year, which is why the satellites are now hovering above us.”
Nevertheless, this light show has once again piqued the interest of users in Armenia. We attempted to obtain a comment from the press secretary of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, but the official, citing after-hours, promised to get back to us tomorrow.
Earlier today, we reported that strange light objects had appeared in the skies of China. This information was provided by Ifeng News, which published footage captured by witnesses in Heilongjiang Province.
