VIDEO: The Syrian River, Dried Up Due to Turkish Dams, Has Refilled with Water After the Earthquake
Due to the construction of dams by Turkey, the Syrian river that had dried up has refilled with water after the earthquake, according to Telegram channels that released a report by Ruptly.
“The flow of water stopped and decreased throughout Syria after the construction of the dams; this created a disastrous situation in the region,” said the head of the water resources department in the city of Al-Hasakah, Syria.
Locals believe that the river has refilled because of earthquakes that may have damaged the dams.
The report specifically refers to the potential damage to the Atatürk Dam, a hydroelectric power station built in 1990. Meanwhile, Turkish authorities state that no damage or leaks have been detected at the dam.
