CSTO Member States Ready to Stand Behind Armenia if Needed: Sidorov
The member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) are prepared to stand behind Armenia if necessary. This was stated today by the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, during a press conference in response to a question regarding whether Armenia’s decision not to hold CSTO exercises in its territory would affect the organization’s operations.
“If the situation suddenly requires the involvement of the collective security system’s forces and means in the Caucasus region... there is experience, and certain plans have also been developed. I believe that CSTO member states would be ready to stand behind their ally in the Caucasus region,” Sidorov's words were quoted by the TASS agency.
