Armenia Prepares Text of Peace Treaty with Azerbaijan: Sargis Khandanyan
Armenia is preparing the text of a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, said ruling party MP Sargis Khandanyan today. The lawmaker noted that recently, proposals have been received from the Azerbaijani side.
“Currently, work is underway regarding those proposals... When our proposals are ready, they will be sent to the Azerbaijani side,” Khandanyan stated.
Addressing the opening of the Armenia-Turkey border, he mentioned that it is possible to open the border if there is a desire to do so.
“If there is a desire, it is possible to open the Armenia-Turkey border, operate the roads, and we hope that the Turkish government will become more supportive of this process, and we will see results more quickly,” Khandanyan declared today at the National Assembly.
“There are certain issues related to the reinforcement and renovation of the Margarov Bridge. The good news is that we saw the bridge is passable, and if a decision is made to open the border or to open the border for citizens of third countries, it won’t take much time for it to be fully passable,” he added.
