The US Must Stand by the Armenian People of Artsakh: Congress Members Continue to Call for Sanctions Against Azerbaijan
US Congressman Ted Lieu has stated that US authorities must hold Azerbaijan accountable for creating a humanitarian crisis in Artsakh. Lieu shared this on his Twitter account.
Ted Lieu condemned the blockade of Artsakh by Azerbaijan, which has deprived 120,000 Armenians of food, fuel, and medicine for two months. He expressed pride in his involvement in preparing a resolution and stressed that the United States must stand by the Armenian people of Artsakh.
Congresswoman Anna Eshoo specifically noted her pride in being the original co-sponsor of the bipartisan resolution condemning the brutal blockade of Artsakh, calling on the Biden administration to hold Aliyev's regime accountable by imposing sanctions on Azerbaijani officials and halting US military aid to Azerbaijan.
“It has already been three months since the brutal blockade of Artsakh by Azerbaijan began, and the US must intensify its efforts to bring an end to this artificially created humanitarian crisis,” Eshoo wrote on her Twitter.
