The Municipality has Started the Year by Fighting Rodents, How Much Money has been Spent?

The Yerevan Municipality has started the year by combating rodents. According to the official documents obtained by the "Zhoghovurd" daily, several tens of millions of drams have been spent for this purpose.

It became known to the media that the Yerevan Municipality is set to spend a total of 30 million 829 thousand drams or 77 thousand dollars this year for pest control services in the administrative districts of Kentron, Norq-Marash, and Arabkir. The contract has been signed with two companies, "Dav-Hak" and "Vah Grig." For instance, the contract with "Dav-Hak" is for 2-3 doses, with a total value of 12 million 511 thousand drams, while the value of the contract with "Vah Grig" amounts to 18 million 318 thousand drams.

It should be noted that three times a month, efforts are to be made to combat rodents using mechanical methods such as traps and baits, as well as chemical methods using pesticides that are not prohibited by the UN and are allowed by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia. It seemed that after sealing the garbage chutes in residential buildings, the rodents would disappear; however, significant funds are still being allocated for their control.
