VIDEO: "The road from Yerevan to Aparan is paralyzed, kilometers of traffic jams have formed", drivers report

Auroranews.am has received alerts from citizens regarding a major traffic jam on the road from Yerevan to Aparan, specifically in a 1 km stretch just before entering the city. One driver reported that they have been stuck in the jam for over an hour, and the vehicles are not moving.

"The road from Yerevan to Aparan is paralyzed, kilometers of traffic jams have formed. There are also no cars coming from Aparan towards Yerevan, so it’s impossible to understand what the cause of the jam is; we have been stuck for kilometers. The drivers are confused. Fuel is running out, and many are trying to turn around and return to Yerevan, which is causing a two-way traffic jam," one of the drivers stated.

Footage provided to us shows dozens of trucks and passenger cars caught in the jam. One driver has turned around and is trying to head back to Yerevan. In the footage taken from the scene, the direction towards Aparan is at a standstill.

Edgar Janoyan, Deputy Head of the Police Public Relations Department, told Auroranews.am that the issues are due to weather conditions and a high volume of both trucks and passenger vehicles. Efforts are being made to restore traffic flow.
