Days ago, videos were published on social networks showing people looting stores in Turkey following the earthquake. Now reports indicate that some of the thieves have been caught and are being beaten.

It is worth recalling that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke about attempts to loot following the devastating earthquake in the country. “Unfortunately, there are attempts to loot in the markets. With the declaration of a state of emergency, the state will intervene in these robberies with the permission of the parliament,” Erdoğan stated.
