VIDEO: How Police Arrested the 26-Year-Old Driver of the 'Hamari'
On February 10, at around 11:30 PM, the driver of a 'Hamari' brand vehicle drove against traffic on Abovyan Street, failed to heed police officers' signals to stop, and drove on the pedestrian section, injuring a patrol officer while deliberately hitting and damaging three police cars and eight civilian vehicles.
In an effort to prevent further incidents and to stop the vehicle, police fired warning shots at the 'Hamari' tires. The driver abandoned the vehicle under an archway of one of the buildings on Agatangeghos Street and fled the scene.
Police operational groups, led by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Aram Hovhannisyan, arrived at the location. The police report that he was located on Khorenatsi Street, arrested, and brought to the pre-trial investigation body.
During a personal search of the arrested individual, a crystalline substance resembling methamphetamine was found. The vehicle has been transferred to the special storage area of the Police Central Division. A criminal case has been initiated.
