The Salary of Servicemen Who Pass Certification Will Be Doubled

The government plans to enhance the attractiveness and interest in contractual military service by introducing additional payments for servicemen holding positions with direct responsibilities in combat operations, planning, or supervision within the ranks of contractual military service.

It is noted that the certification test will consist of 50 questions, and servicemen who answer at least 35 questions correctly and receive at least a 'good' rating in physical, firearm, and drill preparation will be considered certified.

The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, stated during the presentation of the draft decision that the qualification criteria will relate to a variety of various military operations, including those in combined arms, special purpose, reconnaissance, missile, artillery, air defense, radiological and chemical defense, electronic warfare, aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, communications, engineering or military cartography, alongside operational, technical, logistical or medical support for those activities, as well as planning, organizing, implementing, and overseeing combat, mobilization, or moral-psychological preparation.

"Certification encompasses a test assessment of servicemen’s professional knowledge and awareness of their service duties, along with a practical evaluation of their physical, firearm, and drill training levels. The test will include 50 questions, and those who answer at least 35 correctly and receive at least a 'good' rating in each preparation will be considered certified," said Minister Papikyan.

The minister mentioned that as a result of the certification, the salary of the servicemen will be doubled, and together with the additional payment for combat duty, it could reach up to 422,000 drams. The certification will be carried out at five centers established by the minister of defense's order, through 10 commissions.
