Iran Can Slap Those Countries That Create Problems for It, Says Iran's Ambassador to Armenia on Azerbaijan

The Iranian leadership is wise and does not succumb to various provocations from small states. This statement was made by Abbas Badakhshan ZohURI, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Iran to Armenia, during a conversation with reporters.

The diplomat was asked to comment on reports in the Azerbaijani media claiming that Armenia and Iran are allegedly preparing to attack in the directions of Lachin (Berdzor) and Kubatlu (Sanasar).

The Armenian Ministry of Defense and the National Security Service have already denied this news and deemed it false.

The head of the diplomatic mission emphasized that Armenia and Iran are closely cooperating in all areas, and if there are sectors where cooperation should not be disclosed, then that is how it should be.

“Iran can give a little slap to those small countries that try to create problems for it. But the Iranian authorities prefer to act not under the influence of emotions. They are quite wise and restrained in their actions,” said ZohURI.

According to him, the Iranian side has never wanted, and does not want now, to create tensions in the region. The ambassador urged the media to refrain from headlines and articles that could create additional tension.

“As for the military situation, I assure you that Iran is closely monitoring all border realities,” the ambassador stated.

The Iranian political policy in the region is aimed at promoting stability and not causing harm.

The diplomat stressed that one should not allow opponents to initiate a game; they must start and lead it themselves. The adversaries of Iran and Armenia want to introduce chaos and distract the attention of the leaderships of the two countries. The most effective response to these attempts is the coordinated actions of Armenia and Iran, including the constant exchange of information.
