Number of Rescuers Sent by Armenia to Turkey and Syria Revealed
Armenia has dispatched 29 rescuers to Syria and 27 to Turkey. They will assist in the search and rescue operations in areas affected by the earthquake. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It is noteworthy that footage was released yesterday showing that the outgoing rescue teams were sent off by the Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan and the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Director of the Rescue Service, Kamo Tsutsulyan.
Recall that on February 6, at 05:17 AM, an earthquake occurred in the Kahramanmaraş Province of Turkey, leading to devastation in several cities. Two other powerful earthquakes were recorded at 14:24 and 14:36 Yerevan time. The intensity of the underground tremors in the epicentral area reached 10-11 degrees on the Richter scale.
The death toll in Turkey and Syria has exceeded 8,700.
