Every Week Ministers Are Arrested: Pashinyan on Anti-Corruption

The fact that we are experiencing a small setback in international anti-corruption rankings is absolutely unacceptable. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this statement during a government Q&A session, referring to the recently published report by the Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center.

According to that report, our country has dropped five positions in the corruption perception index last year. Two years ago, we ranked 58th out of 180 countries, and now we have fallen to 63rd place.

“I am concerned about these figures, and I don’t believe there could be an error in the statistics. We are fighting against corruption, but there are criminal cases that have been initiated for four years already. It is evident that they are purposely prolonging these cases so that the statutes of limitations expire, allowing these cases to be dismissed,
