Snow, Fog, and Black Ice on Roads in Armenia: Details

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads within the territory of Armenia. The roads leading from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region towards Amberd Fortress and K’ari Lake are closed.

The Dilijan serpentine is difficult to navigate for articulated trucks. The Vardenyats Pass is closed for articulated trucks, while other types of vehicles can navigate it with difficulty. The Jrarber-Fantan road is closed for all types of vehicles due to snow.

The section known as "Meghru Sar" is closed for articulated trucks. The serpentine roads in Spitak, as well as the Vanadzor-Dilijan and Vanadzor-Alaverdi roads, are difficult to navigate for trucks. The Lanjik-Mastara road is also difficult to navigate.

In the Aragatsotn and Syunik regions, there are patches of black ice on the Zoravan-Bujakan roads. Snow is present in the regions of Tigranashen serpentine, Tsaghkadzor, Hrazdan, Vanadzor, Ashtarak, Talin, Aparan, Aragats, Goris, Kapan, Berd, Dilijan, Chambarak, Gavarr, Sevan, Ashotzk, Artik, and Gyumri, as well as in the Aragatsotn region, the city of Jermuk, the Vardenyats Pass, and the section known as "Meghru Sar".

There is snow in the Talin, Aragats, and Aparan regions and in the "Meghru Sar" section. Fog is reported in the Aragats, Charentsavan, and Aparan regions.

Regarding the Lars situation, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia’s Emergency Management Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations’ North Ossetia Crisis Management Center, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
