NATO Responds to Earthquake in Turkey: 'Assistance Will Be Sent Urgently'
The alliance is sending aid to Turkey, which has been affected by an earthquake. This was announced by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on his Twitter account. He stated that assistance will be sent urgently. In relation to the powerful earthquake, the NATO Secretary General expressed full solidarity with Turkey.
“I am in contact with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, NATO allies are now mobilizing assistance,” Stoltenberg wrote.
It is reminded that on February 6th at 6:30 AM, a 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Pazarcik district of Kahramanmaraş province in southeastern Turkey, resulting in the death of 284 people and injuring 2,323 in seven provinces of the country.
