David Tonoyan Will Remain in Custody, Court Rejects Defense's Appeal

The Court of Appeals has rejected the appeal for the release on bail of former Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan, as confirmed by Tonoyan's lawyer, Sergey Hovhannisyan, in a conversation with Armenia Today.

According to the lawyer, they will file a cassation appeal after receiving the written version of the court's decision.

The prosecution claims that during the pre-investigation, it was established that in 2018, with prior agreement from David Galstyan, the owner of a company supplying ammunition to the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defense, senior officials acquired more than 4,200 expired military ammunitions stored in the Ministry of Defense, which had previously been rejected due to not meeting technical requirements.
