Refugee Boat Sinks in the Aegean Sea, 41 Rescued
A refugee boat has sunk in the Aegean Sea, southeast of the island of Leros. This information was reported by the AMHA news agency. The Greek coast guard is conducting search and rescue operations.
So far, 41 individuals have been rescued. However, one woman and one child have been confirmed dead. Among the survivors, six children and two adults have been transported to a hospital, while the remaining 33 individuals have been taken to the island's identification center.
As of now, it is not known how many people were aboard the sunken vessel. Reports indicate that there are many children among the survivors.
Search efforts have been hampered by adverse weather conditions, particularly due to strong winds.
