PM Pashinyan Enters and Quickly Exits Gyumri's Seven Wounds Church During Service
Today, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited Gyumri and entered the Seven Wounds Church, where a divine service was held under the leadership of Archbishop Mikael, the head of the Shirak Diocese. According to sources from Hraparak.am, the Prime Minister entered and immediately exited the church without attending the service offered by Archbishop Mikael.
Media reports indicate that the Prime Minister then went to the Hakob Mtsbnets’i Church in the 58th district to participate in the service there. The news outlet later spoke with Archbishop Mikael. The Archbishop confirmed that the Prime Minister had indeed visited the church but left quickly: "He entered for a second, lit a candle, and left, it lasted probably 1 minute.”
When asked if it was true that the Prime Minister received a cold reception and left for that reason, as he did not receive a warm welcome, the Archbishop said, “I was standing there, offering the service, what special thing should I have done?” Regarding whether he was aware of Pashinyan visiting another church after leaving Seven Wounds, the Archbishop replied, “I am not aware, and that is his business, his affair…”.
