Heavy Snowfall in Romania Leaves Thousands Without Electricity
Heavy snowfall and blizzards in Romania have left thousands of homes without electricity in Alba County. Numerous transformer substations have been damaged, and several roads have been blocked due to snow slides, fallen trees, and utility poles, reports the Digi 24 television channel.
“The aftermath of the snow and blizzard has impacted half the country. There are closed roads due to snow, and trees have fallen due to strong winds, leaving thousands without electricity. Meteorologists warn that the coldest period of this winter is yet to come,” the television report states.
