Is Gasparyan Selling His Villa? - Hraparak
According to information gathered from brokers dealing in real estate, former police chief Vladimir Gasparyan is preparing to sell his villa located in Monument. There are already potential buyers, with the asking price set at $2.3 million. This was reported by Hraparak.
The property in question is situated near the "Victory" park and is currently involved in a civil proceeding under the law concerning the confiscation of property of illegal origin, with the case being examined in the anti-corruption court.
We were unable to reach Vladimir Gasparyan for comment. However, we asked his lawyer Varazdat Asatryan whether the reports that the former police chief intends to sell the property are true. The lawyer stated that he has no information on the matter and declined to answer further questions, saying he needs permission from his client.
We also sought clarification from the Prosecutor General's office on whether the ban on the villa has been lifted. It should be noted that in the case of Hovik Abrahamyan’s villa, when the legality of the property’s origin was contested in court, the ban was lifted, and the house was purchased by the newly emerged oligarch, Narek Nalbandyan, favored by the authorities.
The Prosecutor's office stated that there is currently a ban imposed on Gasparyan's villa.
