Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary to Install Undersea Electric Cable on Black Sea Floor

Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary have formed a working group, as announced by Hungary's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, according to 1lurer.am.

“The large-scale project, which aims to supply green electricity from Azerbaijan to Hungary via the territories of Georgia and Romania, will help achieve two important objectives. Thanks to these investments, on one hand, we will further enhance our energy security, and on the other hand, we will come closer to our climate protection goals,” Szijjarto stated.

He informed that the world's longest undersea electric cable, measuring 1,195 kilometers, would be laid on the Black Sea floor.

“Today we have established a working group consisting of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary and tasked them with preparing a joint technical and economic foundation,” added Szijjarto.
