VIDEO: How Authorities Discovered a Man on the Run for Serious Crimes in Yerevan

The officers of the Main Department of the Police of Armenia carried out an extensive operational-investigative operation which led to the discovery of the hiding place of a man wanted for particularly serious crimes.

The sequence of actions was meticulously planned, and as a result of their successful implementation, on February 2, shortly before midnight, a 29-year-old man was found and arrested in one of the buildings on Argishti Street in the capital.

He was wanted for committing several criminal acts stipulated by the criminal code, including murder.

It’s worth recalling that on August 25, 2019, gunshots rang out on Yeghishe Tadevosyan Street in Shengavit. Two men were taken to the Erebuni Medical Center as a result of the armed incident. One of them, 43-year-old Hambardzum Arakelyan, succumbed to his injuries.

Law enforcement officials found blood-like traces, cartridge cases, bullets, firearms, and other evidence at the crime scene. The windows of a nearby apartment were also damaged from the gunfire.

The 29-year-old man has been transferred to a correctional facility. The investigation is ongoing.
