‘As far as I know, all incidents are connected to one event’: Sinanyan on banning entry of certain opposition figures to Armenia
The Chief Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Zareh Sinanyan, addressed the issue of banning the entry of certain opposition figures to Armenia during a briefing with reporters. He noted that to understand specifically why the entry of certain opposition figures is restricted, one should inquire with the National Security Service (NSS).
“As far as I know, all incidents are connected to one event: a physical attack on a vehicle carrying our national flag,” said Sinanyan.
In response to a reporter's observation that this was a protest action, Sinanyan clarified: “There are various forms of protest. Physical assault and egg throwing are hardly acceptable anywhere. Throwing eggs at a vehicle carrying state symbols, in which the Prime Minister of Armenia is sitting, is an unacceptable form of protest.”
