VIDEO. Our Forces Will Not Be Sufficient for Large-Scale Combat Operations, This Is Clear - Khachatryan

Our army has suffered a significant defeat, which has greatly impacted its morale and psychological state. This was stated today, February 1, during a press conference with journalists in the National Assembly by Armen Khachatryan, a member of the ‘Civil Contract’ faction.

“Not only the army, but all of us are affected. However, everything must be done to ensure that this state, this pressure does not influence our progress and the army. I should also mention that following the events of September, the morale and psychological state of the army has not declined, but rather, it has improved. I have observed that the morale of the soldiers is much better than during the 44-day war. The army has more confidence in its capabilities than it did after the 44-day war,” he said.

When asked if the army is prepared to respond to escalation, he replied, “We must analyze lightly—what territory we have, what population we have, what economic means and resources Armenia possesses, what losses we have endured, and, most importantly, with whom the escalation will occur—Azerbaijan, Turkey, or other countries?”

He assured that our army is capable of addressing a number of challenges. “However, our forces will not be sufficient for entering into large-scale military operations with the mentioned countries, this is clear. Therefore, we need to have a uniquely professional army. In this regard, we must take one or two steps forward so that we can resist with these limited resources,” emphasized Armen Khachatryan.
