Rabbi Zamir Isaev, Director of Baku's Jewish School, Among 'Environmentalists' Blocking Stepanakert-Goris Highway
The only corridor currently closed connecting Artsakh to Armenia is referred to as the Lifeline Road, akin to the road that linked besieged Leningrad to the continent during the Great Patriotic War.
120,000 residents of the unrecognized republic, more than 30,000 of whom are children, have become hostages of Ilham Aliyev's fascist regime.
Surprisingly to many journalists, political analysts, and other experts closely following this tragic spectacle orchestrated by Baku's fascist authorities, Rabbi Zamir Isaev, the director of Baku's Jewish school, has been spotted among the “environmentalists” blocking the road.
Journalist Aram Khachatryan wrote about this, stating, “The Jewish people have suffered numerous hardships throughout their history. During World War II, over 6 million Jews perished. In besieged Leningrad, tens of thousands of Soviet Jews died from hunger and cold.”
In Artsakh, food vouchers have been distributed to residents, reminiscent of the situation in besieged Leningrad over 80 years ago. “How could the son of the Jewish people, a high-ranking figure of Jewish faith representing Sephardic Jews, participate in this blockade? The Rabbi's involvement in this adventurous act is an event that transcends both human decency and all bounds of the Jewish faith.”
During World War II, many representatives of the Armenian diaspora risked their lives to save Jews in Nazi-occupied countries, and they were primarily Sephardic Jews.
“Now I am left with only one question: Why did Zamir Isaev resort to such provocation? Was it a conscious choice, or did he act as an agent of the Azerbaijani government? I hope that international Armenian organizations, including the Armenian community in Georgia, will respond appropriately to the despicable act of provocateur and Azerbaijani government spy Zamir Isaev.”
