The Situation is Very Severe: Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Sunday during a television address that his country urgently needs expedited weapons supplies and new types of weaponry to counter Russian attacks.

According to him, the situation in the eastern part of the Donetsk region is "very complicated." He noted, "The situation is very severe. In Bakhmut, Ugledar, and other regions of Donetsk, there are constant Russian attacks."

Zelensky emphasized, "Russia wants the war to drag on and exhaust our forces. Therefore, we need to turn time into our weapon. We must accelerate events, hasten supplies, and open new opportunities for weapons for Ukraine." He also stressed that allowing Russia to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris would be tantamount to saying that terrorism is somewhat acceptable.

"Attempts by the International Olympic Committee to return Russian athletes to the Olympics are attempts to tell the world that terrorism is somewhat acceptable," Zelensky said in his address.
