The Number of Earthquake Victims in Iran Has Increased

The number of people affected by the earthquake in the city of Khoy, Iran, has reached 973, with three fatalities reported, as stated by Mojtaba Khalidi, spokesperson for the Emergency Situations Service, according to TASS.

The earthquake has damaged two cities and more than 70 villages, with 20-50 percent of buildings destroyed.

Recall that on January 28, an earthquake was recorded 34 km southeast of Khoy, Iran, at a depth of 10 km, with a magnitude of 5.9. The intensity of the underground shock in the epicentral zone was rated at 8 on the scale.
